Math Facts

Our class has been doing weekly times math tests for the past 3 weeks. So far we have covered the +1 facts, +0 facts, and all of the numbers that add up to 10. This is a fun and quick way to help your child become more proficient at adding numbers quickly.

This week we have added the doubled up to 10 to our repertoire. A double is when you add a number to itself. This week we are focusing on the first 6 of the doubles:

0+0
1+1
2+2
3+3
4+4
5+5

In class we're doing the doubles rap to practice these facts. See if your child can sing it to you!

It's the doubles, baby, let's go, let's go.
It's the doubles, baby, and we start with zero.

0 + 0 = 0, Oh!

1 + 1 = 2, Ooooooooh!

2 + 2 = 4, More!

3 + 3 = 6, Kicks!

4 + 4 = 8, That's great!

5 + 5 = 10, Again!
